About

What is the UCMP?

The UCMP is the Ultimate Community Mappack.

Named after founder MichaelM's now-defunct website section "The Ultimate Levels" it's a collection of level designers that strive to create maps containing great gameplay with equally great visuals.

We also like to think that the name means that we map for the 'Ultimate' Community - the Unreal Community. So this is about you, as well as about us.

Broken/Wonky Images

The website uses .png image format graphics scattered throughout the site. This image format is not fully supported by 100% of browsers so we have added a Javascript to the site that will enable all browsers to display the .png graphics. On the positive side, this means all users can see the graphics. On the down side, they may look odd when the page loads.
We also use some script to randomize image displays so you may encounter a similar problem. If you're not seeing the images or they display 'broken image' graphics, then there are 2 possible solutions:

1) You have Internet Security/Anti-Spyware software on your computer that protects you from malicious internet virii/worms/trojans/etc. This software is currently blocking the Javascript code from executing and therefore the code is not running. You'll need to disable Javascript blocking from within the software in order to view the images.

2) Your Internet browser has been set to stop javascript from running. You'll need to go into your browser's properties and hunt around for an entry to allow javascript to run.

You guys rock! How can I join the UCMP?

Membership is by invitation only. We are pretty much all set in terms of level designers. However, if you are a coder we would consider adding you to the team. Send us an e-mail or post on the Forums listing your skills, where we can download some of your previous work, as well as contact info and we'll take a look.

You guys are teh 5UXX0R51111 How can I complain to the UCMP?

Well, even though we're saddened by your disappointment, we're striving to improve ourselves so if you think that you have constructive criticism to provide, go ahead and send us an e-mail or post in the Public Bug-Reporting section of the Forums. We're always looking for ways we can improve our skills and provide the community with quality content.
